Meet Dr. Jayma Claus
Dr. Jayma Claus is passionate about the possibilities of cosmetic and restorative dentistry. She knows that a great smile can be your passport to a brighter future because it not only remarkably changes your appearance — it changes how you feel from the inside out.
From the moment you walk into her office, Jayma and her staff make you feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. You can relax knowing you have chosen a professional who is dedicated to uncompromising quality in dentistry; someone who is on a continuous quest for the best techniques and breakthroughs in her field.
Dr. Claus takes the time to really listen to you. She wants to hear your concerns and discover what you believe about your teeth from your past dental experiences. She will then present you with viable options that put YOU in control. She believes that excellent dentistry means being treated with respect and being empowered to make your own decisions.
Inspired by dramatic transformations in patients’ lives that she saw in her father’s dental practice, Jayma realized that competent, gentle dentistry not only restores your smile, but it can also rebuild your confidence. Patients who suffered through a lifetime of hiding their teeth out of embarrassment or shame were suddenly rejuvenated and regained their self-esteem. They no longer held themselves back in their career or pursuit of relationships.
Jayma Claus was born and raised in Southern California. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and lived the school motto, “learn by doing,” to feed her quest for knowledge and her sense of humor. She learned not only about her major but took courses in psychology, metalsmithing, welding, and how to drive a backhoe. She was active in many clubs and met her husband Steve while obtaining her Bachelor of Science in biology.
After returning to Southern California, Jayma worked for and with her father in his dental office, where she realized how important dentistry was for health, and that a healthy and beautiful smile contribute to the quality of a person’s life. After attending the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Jayma graduated in the top of her class.
She continues her commitment to offering the best care for her patients. She has continued her education and achieved her Fellowship and Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry, and recently completed a program that increased her knowledge and skill in addressing issues of the bite and worn teeth.
Jayma dedicated herself to continue in her father’s footsteps — providing excellent dentistry to restore the health and beauty of the mouth — and by doing so, bringing out the best in her patients. She continues to train in implants, complex restorative care, CEREC®, and laser technologies.
Jayma, her husband, and children Peter and Sarah relocated to Napa in 1997. They remained there for 23 years, and created deep roots in the community. With their children grown, Jayma and her husband have decided to relocate to the beautiful area of Northeastern Tennessee.
Jayma and her family enjoy tennis, scuba diving, snow skiing, spending time with friends, and cooking. She is even thinking of taking up a small farm to keep her busy! Jayma volunteers with many environmental organizations and believes in supporting the local community wherever she can. If she’s not volunteering at the German Shepherd rescue, she can be found walking her own dogs at the park.
